PLMA CHICAGO 2018

The PLMA show serves as a platform for member companies to connect with retailers from the United States and Canada. It attracts buyers from major supermarkets, supercenters, drug chains, mass merchandisers, convenience stores, online retailers, importers, exporters, wholesalers, discounters, and military exchanges.

In 2018, the event featured over 1,500 companies from more than 55 countries, including 30 international pavilions. For over 35 years, PLMA’s annual U.S. Private Label Trade Show has been a pivotal industry gathering, providing access to the flourishing private label market in the U.S. and Canada. Retailers and wholesalers attend the show to source products for their private label programs, spanning food, snacks, beverages, household and kitchen products, health and beauty items, and general merchandise. Exhibitors range from small and medium-sized companies to well-known national brand manufacturers who also supply store brands.

For G.O.C FOOD, the U.S. market is a key focus and holds significant importance. U.S. customers contribute 50% of our revenue, making participation in the PLMA show a crucial annual activity.

G.O.C FOOD has been consistently attending the show for the past five years. Thanks to this platform, we have had the opportunity to engage in business partnerships with major U.S. retailers such as Walmart, Transnational, Dollar General, and Aldi US.

At the PLMA show, G.O.C FOOD showcased our most popular products, including a variety of pickled gherkins, pickled peppers (such as jalapenos, bananas, and bell peppers), and their new seafood product, MACKEREL, which is expected to become a mainstay in the U.S. market. Additionally, they presented traditional Vietnamese products tailored to meet the needs of the Vietnamese community in the U.S., such as pickled leeks, bamboo shoots (both dried and boiled), dried wood ear, cinnamon, and dried peppers.

This year’s show took place from November 11th to November 13th, spanning three days. G.O.C Food received a total of 45 visitors, with 30 from the U.S. and 15 from other countries, marking a 20% increase compared to the previous year.

In conclusion, PLMA 2018 brought G.O.C FOOD a level of success by attracting numerous potential customers. With the objective of expanding their market share in the U.S. in the coming years, they are determined to continue participating in and attending this show in the future.
